Blooming Lambeth awards 2020

Cowley Farm is an example of an Incredible Edible project

Call for entries to this year’s Blooming Lambeth celebrate community gardening, growing and food activism. Categories have been slimmed down to 6 and reflect the limitations that the coronavirus lockdown have brought.

Incredible Edible Lambeth logoIncredible Edible Lambeth and Lambeth council have launched this year’s awards to highlight and celebrate all the growers around the borough. Organisers say: “We hope there is something for everyone here. We especially want to recognise that people are sharing and looking out for one another and many are growing food in spaces large and small.

“This is why we’re excited to open the call for nominations for 2020’s Blooming Lambeth Awards. There will be £150 and £75 prizes to recognise these amazing projects.”

Last year’s winner in the doorstep gardening category was Hardy House. Award recipient: “I feel like I just won a BAFTA”

Blooming Lambeth Nomination details

Full details of the six categories and how to nominate can be found on the IEL website by 31 August 2020

  • You can nominate yourself or another garden but please do not ask multiple people to

nominate you, as the amount of times you are nominated doesn’t influence the voting.

  • Nominations must include: the name/description of the project, location (including

postcode), a contact name and email, 3-5 really good photographs (or videos,

depending on the category) and an explanation of why the garden/project has been

nominated (forms are all online).

Winners will be announced at the Blooming Lambeth Awards celebration evening (virtual or real!) in October.
