Lambeth libraries just keep on giving


    Lambeth library staff continue to do a great job keeping us entertained and educated in the online world during the lockdown. For a full list of activities and online fun – quizzes, book groups, natters, chatters, podcasts and other online events for all ages – check the latest here.

    Book at Breakfast – book chat

    Librarians read from a novel, a short story or poem. There is no need to read aloud or speak – it’s fine to just listen or to chat about books.

    The Big Book Weekend

    The Big Book Weekend (8-11 May 2020) is a three-day virtual book festival that brings together the best of the cancelled British literary festivals, with a range of events ‘sponsored’ by the relevant festival, featuring the authors and other artists who would have appeared.

    VE Day Lambeth

    Over the Bank Holiday weekend, Lambeth Archives will be showcasing a series of historical images from its collections on Twitter, photographs that capture the lives of ordinary people in Lambeth in the lead-up to the celebrations of May 1945, and also commemorating the contribution of the servicemen from the West Indies, many of whom then went on to live in Lambeth after the war.

    Free film streaming with Kanopy

    Reading Books Online

    Reading Groups have gone online bringing people together to discuss a particular book. Don’t miss the weekly get-together’s. You can find more information about each of the groups and what they are discussing on your local library Facebook page or email  todell@lambeth.gov.uk. All welcome.
