People living near Olive Morris House on Brixton Hill, the former council offices, have been invited to online consultations on its demolition after the work is due to start on Monday (20 April).
The developers, Muse, and Lambeth council say the consultations will cover not only the demolition itself, but also the implications for the work of the coronavirus pandemic.
Taking part will be Muse, its “community engagement advisors” GL Hearn, and the council.
The demolition had been due to begin on 6 April.
Flyers have dropped through doors giving residents until Tuesday (21 April) to download Microsoft Teams software and express an interest in one of the two sessions – on Friday 24 April from 10am to noon and Monday 27 April from 7 until 9pm.
People who wish to take part must email GL Hearn with their name and postal address.
Alternatives for those who do not wish to or are unable to take part in the online consultations, and for those without internet access, are the website of the re-established Brixton Neighbourhood Construction Forum (BNCF) and its FAQs (frequently asked questions), and BNCF printed documents for those who “truly have no online access”.
The developers have said that work will only take place on weekdays from 8.30am to 5pm.
The demolition and redevelopment of Olive Morris House is part of the council’s New Town Hall project.
No leaflets have arrived at Effra Court.
