Youthsayers – the music project created in 2016 by Brixton band Soothsayers, School Ground Sounds and Lambeth Music Service and funded by the Arts Council – took a group of local 11-to-18-year-olds to perform at a ska, reggae and soul festival in Cologne in April last year.

Members of Soothsayers had earlier met young German musicians from Königin-Luise-Schule to organise a three-day project – Freedom Sounds – with the young Brixton musicians. German readers and Google Translate users can find out more here. Watch a performance from the event on Youthsayers’ Facebook page.

Youthsayers, based at Raw Material in Robsart Street, play jazz, dub, reggae, Afrobeat and ska.
