Brixton Chamber Orchestra fundraises for tenants’ hall music recitals

Brixton Chamber Orchestra (BCO) is fundraising to bring a series of music recitals to tenants’ halls across Lambeth over the holidays, with the orchestra performing for communities in Loughborough, Angell Town, Moorlands, Tulse Hill and Cressingham Gardens estates.

The BCO played at Cressingham’s rotunda building in summer (above). By pledging, says the BCO, you will help to bring engaging and entertaining performances to thousands of people, as the orchestra seeks to bring large communities together in celebration of music.

Contributions will go towards the necessary expenses of this ambitious project. BCO is a versatile group of classically trained musicians, with young professionals and talented amateurs playing side by side.

It specialises in classical music, but plays music of all types, including pop, gospel and grime. “We work with music charities and schools in Lambeth, as we want to help bring new audiences to classical music and encourage more people to take up an instrument,” they say. Contribute via Kickstarter.
