Police seek help after knife incident at Brixton church

Police still of man soughtPolice are appealing for information after a man brandishing knives walked into the Universal Church of Kingdom of God at 386 Brixton Road and threatened security staff.

The incident happened at about 8.30pm on 13 February.

The man, who had two knives, said he wanted to pray. A security guard confronted him and the suspect threatened to stab him. The man then left the premises.

The suspect is described as a black man who is around 6ft tall.

Anyone who recognises the man in the images released, or who has information that might help the police investigation, is asked to called Lambeth CID on 07785 774 447 or the police non-emergency line on 101.

The Universal Church of the Kingdom of God was formed in 1977 in Brazil after an evangelistic programme conducted by Bishop Robert McAlister, a Canadian missionary in the pentecostal tradition.
