Get your creative juices flowing and help shape this year’s Brixton Design Trail. The team who put Brixton on the map last year as the newest London Design District are hosting a free event on Wednesday 23 March at Brixton East 1871 and want to hear your ideas for events, installations, and community involvement. The evening starts at 6.30pm with a short presentation, followed by drinks until 830pm. Register here. The Design Trail takes place in September 2017.
Last year Brixton gained the same status as more established hotspots like Shoreditch, Clerkenwell and Bankside in showcasing home grown talent.
Organisers say: “This year’s theme Love is Power will engage the local community with a series of installations, exhibitions and events by resident artists, designers and creative organisations, located in public spaces and businesses throughout the town centre.
“The emerging programme includes events at Black Cultural Archives, Pop Brixton, Windrush Square and Brixton Village Market. Whether you’re a market trader, shop, restaurant, cafe, bar, gallery, social enterprise, charity, freelancer, designer, artist, writer, photographer, musician or performer – we would love to discuss ways in which Brixton Design Trail can benefit you.”
The London Design Festival #LDF17 is a key constituent of London’s autumn creative season, alongside London Fashion Week, Frieze Art Fair and the London Film Festival. Established in 2003, its role is to celebrate and promote London as the world’s design capital and gateway to the international design community.
