TUESDAY 1

THE Peckham Pelican

An Artist Residency in Motherhood is an initiative by the artist Lenka Clayton. Potato Sprout is a collection of artworks that are the result of a month of loving and irreverent creativity with her 7-year-old son as her partner against boredom. 6pm-8pm. Free.

WEDNESDAY 2

The Cambria

Camberwell Life Drawing holds untutored LIFE DRAWING classes for anyone who wants to spend an evening creating some art in a relaxed, friendly and bohemian atmosphere. 7pm-9pm. £10 per session (student concession £6).

THURSDAY 3

The Parlour

This Herne Hill cafe hosts an evening of food, wine, beer and classic BOARD GAMES. From 7pm.

FRIDAY 4

Electric Brixton

It’s bass night at the Electric with Natty, Congo Natty, Mad Professor, Trojan Soundystem and Subajah. Natty will perform hits from his recent album Release the Fear and older material. 10pm to 6am. £17.05/£19.25.

Brixton Hill studios have started a record label and are celebrating with a party. The new single features two bands performing on the night – Hot Sauce Pony & Gaygirl – with guests A Lifetime With Mercury. All welcome, but be prepared to be filmed. So best glad rags on.

Liberia’s most successful author Vamba Sherif’s Land of my Fathers draws a compelling portrait of colonialism, slavery, immigration, identity and the forging of new lives within disparate populations. Join the author to celebrate its publication.

Battersea Park

Budget cuts mean no free firework displays anywhere in Lambeth this year, but you can still pay to go to Battersea Park Fireworks. Watch as FIREWORKS dance across the night sky to music made by legends. 6.30–8pm. £6.50 plus booking fee.

SUNDAY  6

Upstairs at  the Ritzy

Catch A Fire favourites El Fata & The Victorious Band touch down again after tearing up the European festivals all summer. El Fata’s uptempo must-dance REGGAE always brings the house down. 8pm-midnight. Free.

Learn Circus Skills,  Yoga for Children, Ping Pong, Pottery All FREE

Circus Skills 12 until 1pm and 3pm until 4pm
All the family can learn to Juggle, Diablo, Plate Spin and Devil Stick with Grant Brookes. Suitable for 6 years and over
Children’s Yoga 11am until 11.30am and 2pm until 2.30pm
Children’s Yoga is suitable for ages 4 to 10 and will be taught by two certified and insured female teachers
Ping Pong Two tables available between Circus skills and Children’s Yoga and later
Pottery Another chance to learn this fascinating craft
Our resident potter, Emma Fenelon, will be holding a continuous class between 11am and 3pm. Also suitable for children

  1. Just wanted to say that St. John’s Church Angell Town is having a Fireworks display, especially for children, on Saturday at 5.30pm.
