    robot box headMonday 9 November: Intent Art Collective are hosting a pop up exhibition at Brixton East. ‘Beautiful’ discusses the complexitites of what the definition of beauty can really mean. The show will consist of nine international and local artists of different practices hailing from the UK to Puerto Rico. 6 to 10 pm. Free.

    Tuesday 10: Brixton Reel Film Festival, Bar Wotever and Urban World come together for a one-night extravaganza celebrating Black LGBTQ+ experience and wellbeing, with new films, DJs and live performance. £5 on the door, £3 concessions. 7 to 12 pm.

    Wednesday 11: Future Sellouts presents The Enlightened Tribe of the Eternal Golden Carp at Brixton’s Dogstar. Join the Future Sellouts crew for an evening of comedy featuring Adam Hess, Lolly Adefope, Tamar Broadbent, Joz Norris and John Kearns. £5 early bird tickets online; £8 on the door.

    Wednesday: Test your knowledge with Vegbar’s new quiz night. Entry is £1 and the winning team gets a round of drinks. 8 pm.

The opera uses Japanese dance, masks, shadow work, physical theatre and live score to continue the story of iconic opera Madam Butterfly. Performance: Wednesday to Saturday 8 pm, Saturday and Sunday matinees 3 pm and 6 pm. Tickets £12-18.

    Friday 13: Artful Dodger, Foundations (Sticky & Scott Garcia), DJ Luck & MC Neat and many more arrive at Jamm for Garage Session, a celebration of UKG, 2-step and grime. 10 pm to 5 am. £6 – £15 advance.

    Saturday 14: Balkan-inspired brilliance from Iyatra Quartet in the Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses. Starts 4 pm. Free.

    Sunday 15: Try out Brixton’s regular Sunday Djembe class for all abilities, from beginners to experts, with master drummer Henri Gaobi. Bring your own djembe, or if you don’t have one but want to join in give Henri a call on 07762 234 553.
