Halloween party on Windrush Square

Barbarella’s Bang Bang

A two-night party in Windrush Square will end an hour before the dead from the now-levelled graveyard of St Matthews rise up at midnight on Halloween (October 31) only to find the Fridge Bar closed.

But, before hurrying home to safety, revellers at Brixton’s night market can eat and drink on Friday 30th and do the same to music the following evening.

Running from 5 to 11pm, food and bar traders for this month’s market represent the street food talents of communities from London and beyond – from Caribbean Cuisine to Hashtag Fish.

Special deserts will be provided by former guests of Her Majesty, Bad Boy Bakery; craft beers will be from pop-up Phox & CoVin Van Voom will have the prosecco; and market organiser Street Concepts’ bar will supply cocktails designed to arouse the spirits.

On Saturday night there will be entertainment from gypsy folk band Barbarella’s Bang Bang.

There will be face painters to add Halloween sparkle or blood to the undead, along with fortune tellers and ghoulish interactive acts.

  1. We fight against gentrification, and then support hipster markets. Something must be very wrong here…
