Brixton Road closed near Tube after ‘car sandwiched by bus and lorry’

Brixton Road has reopened following a collision near the Tube station.

Reports suggested a driver has been trapped in his car between a bus and a lorry at about 7.50am today.

TfL told passengers to expect ‘residual delays’ as one lane is still blocked.

Nettie Williams said on Twitter: “Small car sandwiched btw bus and huge truck – car driver still in car. People photographing him sitting there sandwiched #Brixton.”

Bus routes  3, 59, 133, 159 and 415  returned to normal route at Brixton Road at about 8.10am, after being subject to diversions.
