For its third instalment, new live music night Laid Bare – curated by Rami Radi – has pulled out all the stops, promising a stellar lineup for their gig at the lovely Brixton East on Barrington Road.

Headlining is a solo set from Ben Romans-Hopcroft, lead singer from up-and-coming local four-piece Childhood, whose last performance in Brixton was at the Academy. They’re pretty busy at the moment, having just got back from touring Europe with Bombay Bicycle Club, and they have also supported Johnny Marr.

Their debut album Lacuna, described as “delightful, sun-drenched guitar pop” by the Guardian, has been very well-received and is well worth a listen. Calling to mind the music of The Foals and Tame Impala, the album considers the changing face of Brixton in songs like ‘Sweeter Preacher’ and ‘Right Beneath Me’, through their unique brand of melody-driven psychedelic pop-rock. You can watch a live session they recently filmed at the Windmill for the Guardian here.

Next up are Solsine, a pair of house music DJs who we interviewed in last month’s Brixton Bugle. Drawing comparisons with Rudimental and Chase & Status, these guys will definitely get the party going with their euphoric fusion of house, garage and drum ‘n’ bass.

Another act to get excited about is Our Man in the Fieldan up and coming singer-songwriter who’s been getting a lot of play on BBC6 Music recently.

Adding to this already impressive lineup are MidnightChoir UK, Bee Anchor, Nouria Bah and Felix Holt & The Radicals. So dust off your best dancing shoes and skinny jeans and head on over to Brixton East this Thursday night!

Tickets cost a fiver and you can get them here.
