Brixton Blog passes 20,000 followers on Twitter – help us celebrate by backing our crowdfunder

Not only that, but the Blog has spawned its own print edition, and printed over 6 million pages of newsprint over 26 months. It has a mammoth team of volunteers and contributors who cover news, reviews, sports and funnies across Brixton and the Lambeth borough. We generate over 1,000,000 page views per year.

But it’s not the size that counts, it’s what you do with it that really matters. And that is why we are asking for your help this month. A week ago we launched an innovative crowdfunding campaign with the aim of securing the Blog and Bugle’s future with a new, paid, journalist at the helm of our coverage.  Call us biased, but we really believe this is deserving of your money.

You can read more about why on Indiegogo, but the fact is that the coverage from a professional journalist and news-editor has had, and will have, a vastly positive impact on Brixton and its people. We have consistently demonstrated this over the past five years, with our coverage holding Lambeth council to account over things like the Lambeth Country Show, and securing the long term future of Brixton Rec.

So please take a second to pledge to our crowdfunder and get that warm fuzzy glow – and knowledge that your supporting a true community asset. You’ll even be sent a thank you gift of your choice. We need to raise £15,000 by the end of November, and your help is appreciated. After all, we set up a blog…
