The free party, which kicks off at 12.30pm, will launch the artwork on the Cambria Bridge – which LJAG have been working on with Lambeth Council for the last two years – and the World War One Loughborough Junction walking trail and brand new app for smartphones and tablets, which has been funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The app (LJWW1) will be free to download from 6th September. Read our feature on the app to find out more about.

    This day-long event will feature:

    • talks from historical and geological experts from 12.30-2pm
    • the launch of the World War One walking trails and app from 2-3pm
    • a vintage tea party from 3pm
    • and live music, a model steam train and activities for children.

They will also have the real football which was famously kicked between the German and English trenches during the war.

The event is being held in memory of Angela Akinyemi, one of our most dedicated volunteers who tragically died last year.

Head to the Loughborough Junction Action Group website to find out more about the event and the group.
