Finally the moment Brixton’s dog owners have been waiting for has arrived! This Sunday, July 13, from 2-4 pm,  the annual Brockwell Park Fun Dog Show will take place in front of Brockwell Hall (the mansion house), on the south side of the park.

To win rosettes, certificates and prizes you can enter: Cutest puppy (4-12 months), Prettiest Bitch(1-6 yrs), Handsomest Dog(1-6 yrs), Golden Oldie (from 7 yrs), Dog’s Got Talent and Showtime (dog and owner fancy dress).

Alongside the main event they’ll be a raffle, stalls, free micro-chipping and dog ID tags. This year there is also the exciting new edition of the Reptile Event; which includes rescue snakes and lizards, with an opportunity to hold and find out about them.

  1. Love the dog show, not sure on the age limit though for the most handsome dog and prettiest bitch, seems alittle unfair since some older dogs can equally be a real delight with good looking characteristics. Then there is the other category; golden oldie, 7 years is halfway through the lifespan of many dogs so 7 ain’t old in dog terms. Better to remove the age limit on the first two categories and have the golden oldie after 12 years. Apart from that all in all a fun day. I hope the organisers provide some sort of shade as that grass patch in front of the house does get full sun and if it is a hot day the dogs will be pretty exhausted. Although it’s the weekend so probably no worry over baking hot sun!!!
