Following two critically-acclaimed albums with Lee Scratch Perry and the chart-topping box set History Of the Future – The Island Years, the Orb set off on a world tour last year. One of the highlights was ‘The Orb presents Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld’ live at Electric Brixton, which saw Alex (previously interviewed for the Brixton Blog) and Thomas celebrate their 25th anniversary by returning to their spiritual home of South London to perform their seminal first two albums; The Orb’s Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld (1991) and UFOrb (1992) in their entirety.

An Electric Brixton packed-full of seasoned fans and fresh-faced new recruits in equal measures gave the band an enthusiastic reception, following a bass-heavy sonic journey accompanied by an impressive spectrum of visuals. The Orb enjoyed the gig so much they’ve decided to return to Electric Brixton on Saturday 15th March – this time extending the show into an all-nighter.

Other electronic artists will be making an appearance, including Banco De Gaia, Rita Maia and Gatto Fritto. Abbey Road Studios will be filming and recording the gig for a forthcoming Orb live DVD using Abbey Road’s Live Here Now service.
