Murder probe launched after Brixton stab victim Dwane Simpson dies in hospital

Police in Brixton launched a murder enquiry last night when a 20-year-old Stockwell man, who was knifed on Tuesday, died in hospital.

Dwane Simpson was stabbed in the chest in Rossiter Grove, between St John’s Crescent and Gresham Road, on Tuesday at about 5pm. He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital in a critical condition. He died last night (Thursday).

Three 16-year-old boys were arrested on Tuesday.  Two on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, and one on suspicion of attempted murder. They were taken to a south London police station and later bailed to return on a date May pending further enquiries.

The next day officers arrested an 18-year-old woman on suspicion of attempted murder. She was taken into custody at a south London police station and later bailed to return on a date in May pending further enquiries.
