Man arrested after Camberwell shooting

rsz_stock_pic_police**Update: Witnesses are still being sought in relation to the shot fired at officers in Camberwell on December 2.

The officers were making enquiries about a burglary in the area. A shot was fired at their marked police car in Knatchbull Road, SE5 at approximately midday.

The unarmed officers were not injured.

A 26-year old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and was held in custody at a south London police station.

Simon Wroe on Twitter said that roads around Myatt’s Field had been cordoned off.

Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Reeves, who is leading the investigation said: “This incident happened at a busy time of day. We are interested in hearing from any local people who feel they have information that could help the investigation.”

  1. Terrible. I think both suspects race/ identification should be equally highlighted here. Don’t you?

    • Yes of course, and they were: ‘The suspect who is thought to have fired at officers is described as black. He was accompanied by a white male, and both are thought to be aged in their 20′s.’
