Community Service Volunteers (CSV) is recruiting for volunteers in Lambeth to assist in its Volunteers supporting Families (VsF) project.
The project, funded by the Department for Education, matches trained volunteers to families that are in need of additional support. There are currently two schemes accepting applications; Volunteers in child protection and parent mentoring.
As one of seven new projects setup across the UK, VsF is set to work in partnership with Lambeth Council in line with the work carried out by Social Care Teams.
CSV is currently searching for volunteers that have the ability to inspire, understand the additional or complex needs faced, and offer emotional and practical support and mentoring to families within their community. Volunteers are expected to visit families one day a week for a minimum of six months, offering support through communication, agreed goals and accessing local services. CSV will provide the necessary training and support in this demanding role.
