Derelict Brixton flats destroyed by blaze

Three flats in a derelict block in Brixton were destroyed by fire in the early hours of yesterday.

The fire brigade was called to the blaze in Brixton Road at 1.37am. More than 20 firefighters were sent to the scene, with two fire engines from Brixton and two fire engine from Clapham.

The blaze, which involved two flats on the ground floor and one on the first floor was brought under control by 3am. No one was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
