Little Lambeth: Treehouse Work and Play

This month, Little Lambeth author Ruth Miller recommends an ingenious new crèche on Brixton Road

All parents need a moment to themselves to get things done and all parents know that when their child is very little, he or she doesn’t tend to understand how to be quiet. Even favourite telly programmes only keep them occupied for a little while!

However, a great solution has opened up on Brixton Road. The Treehouse Work and Play can let you place your child (under 6 years of age) in the crèche while you head out to do some shopping or get some work done. The crèche space looks great fun; it has a small climbing frame, some indoor mini trampolines and a ball pit. There is a separate gated baby area to keep the babies in and the toddlers out!

You can also work in the space next door which has individual tables with computers and larger tables to put laptops on and spread out a bit. There are bits of stationary to use and access to a photocopier and everything one needs to do a bit of work. And the best bit is it’s great to know your little one is safe next door.

The Treehouse Work and Play is open 7 days and week. Give them a ring on 020 7998 3789 and find out what they can provide for you. Or pop in and visit them at 373 Brixton Road, London

SW9 7DE (opposite Brixton’s Mothercare). Do not be put off by the stairs; they will come down and help you access the building.

It’s an excellent service and I am a happy customer! Let’s support this  local business who are finding alternatives for parents and children to have a happy life.
