A primary school has celebrated the opening of nine new classrooms and a nursery.

Lambeth mayor cllr Clive Bennett joined author Valerie Bloom MBE at an event on November 23 at Stockwell Primary School, Stockwell Road.

Cllr Heywood said she was “delighted” with the new facilities, adding: “In Lambeth we are desperately short of primary places so really welcome the completion of this scheme which will add an extra class to each year group at this outstanding school.”

The project was made possible by a £3.3m Government grant.

  1. Yup the class rooms have opened and now they might shut as they have ‘mis-installed’ the heating… Last week my little one had to keep his coat and or be taught in the school hall. The new wing looks good but the frikkin’ heating should work when it’s only 4 months open.
