UPDATE: Two teens in court charged with murder after Brixton stabbing of Junior Nkwelle

TRAGIC: Footballer Junior Nkwelle, 15, was stabbed to death

A 14-year-old girl and a boy, 16, will appear in court today charged the murder of 15-year-old Junior Nkwelle in Loughborough Estate, Brixton.

Mr Nkwelle was found by police on Thursday at 9.30pm, outside Secker House. He had been fatally stabbed in the chest.

On Saturday his mother, Stella, made an emotional plea for information. She said: “I would like all of the kids who saw what happened to my son to come forward and speak to the police.

“I am pleading with the parents to let their children do that, and to support their children in telling the truth. If they do not it could lead to this happening again one day.”

Detective Chief Inspector Charlie King, who is leading the investigation for the Homicide and Serious Crime Command, said: “I support Junior’s mother’s appeal for witnesses to come forward and for families to support each other in coming forward.”

The two accused teenagers will appear at Camberwell Green Youth Court later today (Monday).
