Brixton Bolt event in full swing

Today’s Brixton Bolt event, which aims to find the fastest man, woman and child in the town, is in full swing in Popes Road.

The road is closed as different age groups take on the 100m challenge along the side of Brixton Rec, finishing at the junction with Station Road and its Saturday market.

Brixton Blog is also on hand distributing copies of the Brixton Bugle, so do say hello!

The youngest competitor in the event was Justiano Rookwood, 3, who completed the race to raptuous applause despite falling over. “I want to do it again noe,” he told the Brixton Blog.

Another pair of champions, pictured above, were Alicia, 10 and his friend Luca, 11, fro St Johns School Angell Town. They tore through the course, finding time to strike a Bolt for us at the finishing line.
