Lambeth councillors will decide whether to grant an alcohol licence to a Carribean restaurant in Brixton Road.

Paradise Cove, on Brixton Road, wants the right to serve alcohol and have recorded music until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights, and until midnight for the rest of the week.

The decision will be taken by members of the licensing sub-committee at Lambeth Town Hall, Brixton tonight.

Owner George Mitchell assured that “steps will be taken to prevent disturbance to residents” and said the restaurant will take a zero-tolerance approach to drug use and drug dealers.

Local residents have sent 21 “representations” to be considered at the meeting. View the agenda item here.
