Pensioner suffers head injuries in Herne Hill collision

A pedestrian in his 70s was taken to hospital yesterday after a serious collision in Herne Hill.

Police closed Herne Hill, Norwood Road and Dulwich Road after the incident at the junction with Milkwood Road at 7.15pm yesterday.

The pensioner suffered head injuries and was taken to Kings College Hospital, Camberwell where his condition is not known.

The collision involved a Ford Focus, whose driver stopped at the scene. There have been no arrests.

A spokesperson for Lambeth police said: “Inquiries are underway after a man was injured in a collision in Herne Hill.”

The roads were re-opened to traffic at 10.45pm.
