Take Two (plus a bonus): Patience (After Sebald) @ Ritzy Cinema and last week of Natasha Caruana exhibition @ Photofusion

Take One: ‘Patience (After Sebald)’ @ Ritzy Cinema

Anyone who has read any W.G.Sebald should definitely be attending this tonight and if you haven’t then it’s a great chance to discover his work.  German writer Sebald died tragically early in a car crash in 2005, but increasingly he is recognised as one of the top writers of his generation. Director Grant Gee has created a multilayered film essay as tribute to Sebald, tracking his most famous book, The Rings of Saturn, through a long walk around the coast of East Anglia. Gee will be taking questions after this special screening and Herne Hill Books will be on hand with copies of Sebald’s wonderful novels.

The film has now been moved to a bigger screen at the Ritzy, so there are still tickets available.

Patience (After Sebald) at Ritzy Cinema, 6.30pm

Take Two: Natasha Caruana: Married Men and Other Stories @ Photofusion Gallery

It’s your last chance to catch this photography exhibition by local photographer Natasha Caruana as it enters its final week at Photofusion. Her work is a commentary on women in the world of love, dating and relationships and draws on her own experience as well as internet and archival research.

Bonus! Take Three: Celebrating Female Graphic Novelists @ Streatham Library

OK…this is in Streatham and we know we usually only do two tips, but this just looks a bit too cool to miss. The SW2 Graphic Novel Group are holding an event at Streatham Library to celebrate female graphic novelists, with a discussion on Tamara Drewe as the main event.
