Hatch – a big day to test out your big ideas

Startup_brixtonStart Up Brixton is a one day event being run by Hatch Ventures.  If you have a big idea for a business, or want to grow an existing one, then go along to Pop Brixton on 28 May 10am-5pm.

StartUp Brixton will be a day of workshops, panel discussions, speakers, and dedicated one-to-one business surgeries that will act as a stepping-stone to starting-up or growing an existing business.

There’s also a chance to pitch your (social) startup to a panel of judges and win seed funding from the new Hatch Fund, which will be launched at the event.

For those starting up workshops include:

Where to start: how to make your idea a business. Getting to know your customer: how to find yor ideal customer and sell.  Business modelling: why planning matters.  Finance:  raising finance and getting the price right. Legal structures: the right model for your company.

For those growing Up workshops include:

Leadership for entrepreneurs: includes hints and tips to help you convince others your business is worthy of support. How to pitch for investment: templates to help. Measuring your impact: the good your business is doing and to to show that off. Managing your money: budgets and cash flow.  Scaling up: how to grow your sales.

Speakers include entrepreneurs and Hatch alumni Lee Denny (Lee Fest/ Wildfire), Solomon & Hashi (Brixton Soup Kitchen), Cemal Ezel (Change Please), and Leo Chan (Equally Possible), Rich Pleeth (SUP App) as well as Ben Warren (Big Society Capital), and Constance Laisné (Alt Gen).
