Brixton Tube Station could be affected by planned strike action next week

Commuters using Brixton station on Tuesday are likely to be hit by a strike by Victoria Line drivers.

Members of the RMT union will take action from 9pm Tuesday (September 24) until 3am the next day in the row about overtime.

Drivers claim they are being forced to work overtime and that London Underground (LU) are failing to hold meetings about it.

But LU told the BBC it had held meetings, and said the response to the RMT ballot was poor: “Less than half of those balloted chose to vote in any way, and just 39% of those balloted have voted for industrial action.

“If the union feels there are still issues to discuss then they should keep talking to us so that things can be resolved properly.”

It is not yet known how the strike would affect services at Brixton Station and along the Victoria Line.

  1. Woah! I¡¯m really enjoying the template/theme of this blog. It¡¯s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it¡¯s very hard to get that ¡°perfect balance¡± between usability and appearance. I must say you¡¯ve done a superb job with this.

  2. How about supporting the workers rather than regurgitating the propaganda of the employer?
I support this strike and send best wishes to all who have lawfully withdrawn their labour today.
